During the 2019-2020 school year, BCLTRT and Deep In The Heart Art Foundry held a Perseverance in the Pines: 10 Years of Recovery Commemorative Coin Contest. High School students from Bastrop, Cedar Creek, McDade, Smithville and Elgin were asked to create a front or back side for our commemorative coin. These students were in elementary school or younger when the fires happened, so to see the detail they put into these designs was awesome.
